Sustainable packaging is becoming a higher priority for both brands and consumers - now more than ever before. Simply put, it is packaging that reduces its environmental footprint over time. Vivant contributes to this in several ways:
Ingredients: By choosing 100% recycled or raw materials.
Reusability: Creating a circular economy around packaging and items, extending their life cycle and usability.
Recycling & upcycling: Vivant turns leftovers into something useful and beautiful again.
100% natural ingredients
Within our range, we have a number of options of natural materials to prefer over polyester, for example. We offer this in paper (sheets and rolls) as well as ribbons and other decorative materials. Banana paper, Silk paper, Carat paper & Mulberry Raw & Mulberry Grid, Ferro and Handmade paper consist of fibres from the banana plant and/or mulberry pulp. The pulp is made from young and fast-growing shoots of the mulberry tree, with a view to preserving the original trees. Vivant also has natural ribbons and cords such as: Malang ribbon, Revi ribbon, Papery ribbon, Paper twist cord, Papery cord, Seagrass, Flaxcord & Polished Hemp. Looking for ecological table decorations? We have some stylish options for that too: For example Raphi and Bakari cutlery sleeves and placemats.
Reusability
There are a number of packaging items that you can reuse as packaging once received, but can also be used in other ways. For example, you can use a Cotton heart box, Grid box or a Vance round box can also be used as a storage box. So both a nice way to pack something and an addition to your interior! We also have the Wish bottle decoration. With this item, you can gift your loved ones with a sweet message. Afterwards, it can still be used as a bracelet or accessory. You can hang it on your bag, for example.
Recycling & upcycling
Vivant uses paper flanges for its ribbons, which can be reused and recycled. Not only do we ensure that materials are recycled, but upcycling also plays an increasingly important role. Making something useful and beautiful again from leftovers. Within our range, we have, for example Recycled silk ribbon, Recycled silk fibre balls and Re-use cord.
Recycled silk
All leftover silk (especially from the sari) is collected and cut to a desired width. Narrow strips are then sewn together and, if desired, dyed in another colour. This creates a ribbon consisting of silk remnants that would otherwise be thrown away.
Recycled silk fibre balls
Silk fabric scraps are cut into strips, broken and then carded. During carding, the relatively short fibres are prepared to be spun. The fibres are first cleaned, untangled and joined together using a comb with small nails (carding). After this process, it can be drawn into yarn and spun. Re-use cord
Pieces of yarn that have been cut or rejected can no longer be used at factories. These yarns are collected and twisted together with other yarns to form a 'new' cord. In this way, residual material is turned into another beautiful product.
