DIY recycled silk fibre balls

Our new item "Recycled silk fibre balls" not only consists of beautiful fibres, but there is also a fascinating story behind its origins. It can be used in so many different projects, from classic craft techniques like knitting and crochet, to trendy DIY projects, jewellery, gift wrapping and floral arrangements.

How is it made?

Silk fabric scraps are cut into strips, broken and then carded. During carding, the relatively short fibres are prepared to be spun. The fibres are first cleaned, untangled and joined together using a comb with small nails (carding). After this process, it can be drawn into yarn and spun. And this is how our Recycled silk fibre balls!

Flower decorations

Bouquets and other flower arrangements are very easy to brighten up with recycled silk. For example, wrap a soft colour like cream around a bouquet. This way you can make it a little more special! Of course, you can also go for a brighter colour like fuchsia, orange, red or green to make your bouquet of flowers more expressive.

Flower pots and vases can also be decorated very nicely! Work the yarn into a weave, crochet or knit, for example. This way, you can combine different colours. Create a light-dark contrast by combining colours such as cream and aubergine for a cool look or go for a real summer atmosphere with the colourful options of recycled silk.

Wall creations

Give your interior a personal touch by making your own wall decoration. Use different colours of Recycled silk fibre in combination with other materials to match your interior. Dry flowers are the trend of the moment. Also great fun to add these to your decoration! Tie the Flashy cord here and there through it for a 'golden touch'. All in all, an enrichment for indoors and outdoors.

Let your creativity run wild!
